Mattie L. Amsden

Licensed Massage Therapist

I was lucky enough to have grown up in a very small town with two veterinarians as parents who owned their own clinic. Needless to say, that set me up to be intrigued by sciences & the medical field from a very early age. I was still in high school when I began an in-depth study of the human body through EMT training in 2014, followed by Phlebotomy training while attending college. I graduated from a Bachelor of Fine Arts program in 2019 after following a passion for ceramic art, and the arts in general.
Once through college I was able to attend a 200-hour Yoga Teacher training course, which allowed me to build a deeper connection and understanding of the body I get to live in. This also was a starting point which ultimately led me to pursuing my current profession. Less than 2 years later I graduated from a 900-hour Massage Therapy program in Fargo North Dakota. That course allowed me to understand my ability to help others alleviate discomfort & pain held within their body.

I moved to Tucson in the late summer of 2023 & I was able to secure a part time position at Canyon Ranch Wellness Resort. I also wanted to start my own private practice to give back to my immediate community. That’s why I started Sacred Sol Massage Therapy.
I’ve continued to quench my thirst for knowledge by attending an Ashiatsu (barefoot massage) continuing education course in the summer of 24’. Which has allowed me to work a different way with my own body & allows for my clients to receive the deepest possible pressure without creating sharp or painful sensations. Other than traditional massage modalities & Ashiatsu, I have developed a special interest in Prenatal Massage.
My passion for prenatal massage comes from a deep respect for the journey of pregnancy. I find it incredibly meaningful to support women during such a transformative time in their lives—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Each session is an opportunity to create a calm, nurturing space where a mother can reconnect with her body, release tension, and feel truly supported. I love being part of that sacred pause where care, comfort, and connection take center stage.

I truly believe my purpose as a massage practitioner is to help others find balance by calming the nervous system and guiding them into a more present, embodied state. I honor that every body shows up with its own unique story and expression. My approach is rooted in listening deeply—to both what is spoken and what is held in the body—so I can support each client in reaching their individual goals with care and collaboration.
